Lights Out Electric: Quality, Integrity, and a Passion for Service
Justin Walker, owner of Lights Out Electric, took the floor today to share his journey, his passion for his work, and the values that continue to drive his company forward.
Working across residential, commercial, and industrial projects, Justin has built Lights Out Electric from the ground up over the past four years. With a steady stream of referrals, a reputation for great service, and a growing demand for skilled talent, his business continues to expand month after month, year after year.
Justin’s roots are in hard work. Raised in a blue-collar family, he began his career at the Alton Steel Mill, working alongside his father. When his father sadly passed away from COVID, Justin decided he could never go back to that job. Instead, he struck out on his own, building a business that not only supports his family but helps others in the community.
Outside of work, Justin is especially proud of his son, who recently stepped away from minor league baseball to join an elite firefighting team in Southern California, a move that reflects the same dedication to service and excellence that Justin lives by.
In his presentation, Justin emphasized the importance of doing quality work from the start.
“Done once. Done right. That way, you don’t have to go back and fix it.”
Many of his customers trust him for both home maintenance and remodeling projects, knowing he’ll treat their property as if it were his own. From upgrading outdated knob-and-tube wiring to modern safety standards, to enhancing spaces with elegant lighting or upgrading electrical panels from 100 amps to 200 amps, Justin’s projects often combine safety with beautification.
His guiding principle is simple but powerful:
“I’m no better than anyone else. I want to treat others like I want to be treated.”
That mindset extends to his team, creating a company culture built on respect, care, and a genuine desire to solve problems for customers — no matter how large or small the job.
